Watch Veetle Using XBMC

if you haven't heard about XBMC here is a little info on the program:

XBMC (formerly "Xbox Media Center") is an award-winning free and open source (GPL) software media player and entertainment hub for digital media. XBMC is available for Linux, OSX, and Windows. Created in 2003 by a group of like minded programmers, XBMC is a non-profit project run and developed by volunteers located around the world. More than 50 software developers have contributed to XBMC, and 100-plus translators have worked to expand its reach, making it available in more than 30 languages.

While XBMC functions very well as a standard media player application for your computer, it has been designed to be the perfect companion for your HTPC. Supporting an almost endless range of remote controls, and combined with its beautiful interface and powerful skinning engine, XBMC feels very natural to use from the couch and is the ideal solution for your home theater.

Its kinda like Windows Media Center. Its got a lot of plugins for various video feed sites and i found a plugin for veetle for it on XBMC's forums. It got nice interface which shows you the channel listings and you just click on whatever you want to watch and it starts streaming it (non HD streams).

Here are some snapshots of the interface:

What you need:
1. Download XBMC >> http://xbmc.org/download/
2. Download the plugin (filename in red box below)>> t0mm0-xbmc-plugins

Once you install XBMC, start it up and you should see a menu.
Scroll down to System > Addons > Install from zip file.

Browse and find the file you just downloaded in step 2 and click on it.

It will install the plugin and will go back to the Addon Menu.
Now click on Get Add-ons and click on t0mm0's XMBC Addons > Video Add-ons and click on Veetle and Install.

You should see that enabled is now showing on Veetle.
**UPDATE** Once enabled click on Veetle on the same page and goto Configure and DISABLE SCHEDULE otherwise the plugin does not work** (Fixed in v0.1.6)
Click on the Home icon (top left corner) which will take you back to the Main Menu.
Choose Videos > Video Add-ons > Veetle from the list and that will start the veetle plugin and it should start downloading the channel listings.
From there you can choose the channel you want to watch and the video will start playing.

A little Demo going thru the install and watching veetle videos:

Thanks to t0mm0 for the plugin!

Enjoy.

  8. veetle changed some stream data so the old plugin does not work. there is a new one you can download here:
    https://github.com/sissbruecker/xbmc-veetle-plugin/archive/master.zip
goto System > Addons > Install from zip file.
find the downloaded file and click on it, now it should be updated.
